For the 26th time Turkish Ceramic Companies are proud to present their latest products during UNICERA, one of the most important trade events globally in the ceramics industry, which is held between the 26th of February and 02nd of March this year.
Turkey has a rich history of ceramics which dates back to 8,000 years. Today the ceramics industry in Turkey is one of the largest in the world and is regarded as being the number one sanitary ware exporter in Europe. By the end of 2013 Turkey reached more than $1 billion of total ceramic products export, with more than $606 million from tile export and more than $204 million from the export of sanitary ware.
Turkey can be seen as the ‘land of ceramics’. The tradition of ceramics has been coloured by the many different civilizations that have evolved in the Anatolian region. Today Turkey is one of the strongest players in the ceramics industry in the world with its abundance of natural resources, high quality ceramic products and the innovative approach.
As well as being Turkey’s most important ceramic trade event and becoming one of the leading annual ceramic fairs, UNICERA will this year prove itself to the industry once more as an international meeting point with 322 companies from 15 countries in 86.000 sqm of exhibition space, with 10 halls and more than 65,000 visitors.

The results of the Ceramics Design Competition which is held this year for the first time by the Union of Cement, Glass, Ceramic and Earthenware Manufacturers will be announced on 26th of February at the UNICERA opening ceremony.
The competition invites present and future designers to create designs which are innovative, adaptable, environmentally-friendly, sustainable, practical and easy-to-use. They must consider the use of new materials in relation to changing living spaces and requirements. The winners of the competition will be awarded 100,000 TL across 8 different categories. The first Ceramics Design Competition has drawn great attention from Turkish students with a huge amount of applications. The Turkish Ceramics Promotion Group is willing to take this promising competition global to ensure the development of the industry by matching talented designers all over the world.
